The Mercaston Fold is a commercial enterprise of 250 head, dedicated to the breeding of the finest quality pedigree Highland cattle, as well as the production of pure Highland beef which is the cornerstone of The Mercaston Food Company’s range of meat products.

The Highland breed is best described as charismatic, beautiful and noble, as well as being instantly recognisable. They are renowned for their hardiness, longevity and superb mothering abilities. Highlands are efficient and versatile and can improve unproductive land through their grazing habits – they are becoming an increasingly popular breed within conservation grazing schemes.

The Mercaston Fold will continue to develop, striving for excellence from our superb foundation stock through careful management and selective breeding.
